How do I buy property from Smart Home Construction?
There are two ways to find your dream home with Smart Home Construction. You can work with us to choose the right pre-built home, or we can design the perfect custom home for your needs. When you buy, you can use traditional financing or seller financing, which will also give you access to quicker and cheaper closing on the purchase.
What are my financing options to pay for my home?
When it comes to buying a home from Smart Home Construction, you have options. In addition to traditional financing sources, we also offer seller financing to make buying our homes more accessible. Through seller financing, you can buy a home without a credit check. All you need is proof of income.

Do you only sell homes in the neighborhoods listed on your site?
We offer a selection of pre-built homes and have established relationships in the neighborhoods listed on our Neighborhoods page. However, we’re happy to work with you to build your dream home in your dream location.

How long does it take to build a custom home?
From groundbreaking to move-in, you can expect a 7- to 12-month construction process for your custom dream home—built with precision, superior materials, and expert craftsmanship.
- Months 1-2: Site preparation, excavation, and foundation
- Months 2-3: Framing, roofing, and exterior envelope
- Months 3-5: Rough mechanicals (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and insulation
- Months 5-9: Interior finishes (drywall, flooring, cabinetry, painting)
- Months 9-12: Final details, fixtures, landscaping, inspections, and walkthrough
What features are available for your custom homes?
Each of our South Texas homes is built with premium features, including luxury cabinetry, modern fixtures, elegant design, energy-efficient windows and doors, weather-proof exteriors, and optional smart features, including video doorbell systems, Cat 6 Ethernet support, and smart lighting, thermostats, locks, and mirrors.
Can I make changes to my home after construction has started?
Countless aspects of your home will remain flexible as construction is underway. Details like your countertop material and fixture selection can be updated, with an accounting for increases in the cost for that detail. Some more structural features, like ceiling height and room dimensions, are less flexible, as they affect early stages in the construction process.
